Today Dux is a name synonymous with the manufacture and distribution of high quality bathroomware, plumbing, drainage and sinkware products within New Zealand. Established in 1936 by Ernie Christie, Dux Engineers as it was originally called, focused on metal fabrication and engineering. During the war years high priority was given to communications equipment for Phillips and badges for the troops.
In 1965 the first polypropylene toilet cistern 'Centreflush' was launched. This proved to be the most popular cistern ever produced in New Zealand. The company then went on to produce the first dual flush water saving mechanism which was patented and integrated into our cistern range in 1990. Over the last 40 years Dux products were distributed and marketed by Plumbers Limited, the partnership culminated in the two companies combining in 1996. They went on to launch the Secura Polybutene hot and cold water system, which was a unique fully incapsulated plastic covered copper and brass range of fittings. In 2005 the Secura system was upgraded and modified for today's environment and the new system of complete brass fittings was launched under the new name SecuraGold. In 2006 Dux Industries Limited became part of the Aliaxis Group of companies which currently employs over 15,000 people across 50 countries. Through a proud history of innovation, design and manufacturing excellence today's goal is to be the Australasian leader in the supply of quality bathroom, plumbing, drainage and sinkware products. Product is sold throughout all leading plumbing, building and DIY retailers in New Zealand as well as a number of growing export markets. Dux has the flexibility to offer product solutions for an increasingly diverse range of customer requirements. back to top |
